Chioggia: city of art and good food

The bàcari , authentic refuges of the Venetian tradition, are the most characteristic environments of Chioggia. These typical taverns, with an intimate and informal atmosphere, almost always feature minimalist furnishings, creating a welcoming and familiar atmosphere.

Here you can taste the "cicchetti", delicious tastings prepared with typical ingredients of Venetian cuisine and, in particular, that of Chioggia . Among the proposals there are sardines in saor, marinated anchovies, creamed cod on polenta croutons, grilled cuttlefish, mixed frying, vegetable omelettes, hard-boiled eggs and various types of meatballs.

Riva Vena , a picturesque 840 meter long pedestrian path in the heart of Chioggia, represents one of the most characteristic areas of the town. This route runs parallel to the right of the Canal Vena, a waterway that crosses the entire city, from the ancient Porta di Santa Maria to the suggestive Ponte di Vigo, which almost acts as a panoramic balcony over Chioggia.
